INSTRUCTIONS FOR SUPER COMPRESSION MICROPHONE PREAMPLIFIER 12BE

The purpose of the l2BE microphone preamplifier is to provide pre-amplification for microphones. It is installed between the microphone and the tape recorder.

The compression feature provides a constant output level for varying input levels.

1. Install a 9 Volt battery in the battery compartment.

2. The microphone input jack is the one closest to the edge of the case.

3. The other jack is the output. Use a patchcord with 3.5mm plugs on both ends to connect to the tape recorder. In MOST cases, it is best to use the "mic" input of the recorder and turn the ALC on.

4. Turn the knob clockwise past the click to turn the preamplifier on.

5. To increase the output level, turn the knob further clockwise. We suggest making a few test recordings to determine the optimum setting.
