The purpose of the Amp-1 is to provide preamplification for the M-1 intelligence microphone.
The Amp-1 is installed between the microphone and a tape recorder.

1.) Install a 9 Volt battery in the battery compartment.

2.) The microphone input is the jack closest to the edge of the case.

3.) The output is the other jack. Use appropriate patchcord to connect.

4.) To turn the preamplifier on, turn the knob clockwise past the click about half a turn.
In MOST cases, it is best to connect to the recorder's "mic" input and turn the ALC on.

5.) To increase the output level, turn the knob clockwise. Make a few test recordings to determine the optimal setting.
