The IR-02 Infrared Test Transmitter is useful in gaining experience in detecting clandestine IR transmitters using the TD-53 and its P-02 Infrared probe for detection.

It has two operating modes: TONE and MIC.
In the TONE mode, the unit transmits a constant stream of output pulses at a 3 KHz rate.
In the MIC mode, it transmits a 17 KHz carrier that is frequency modulated by audio picked up by the built-in microphone.

The unit weighs 6 oz., measures 4.25 x 2.6 x 1.8" and uses one 9V alkaline battery (included).
