There are two conference microphones. They look almost the same except one has an ON-OFF switch for a built-in preamplifier powered by a watch battery. The other has no preamplifier. Both have a 3.5mm plug.

PCM-1 $22
The PCM-1 has no preamplifier and must use the Amp-1 ($63) or 12BE ( $99)as its preamp. Or you can use it directly to a long play recorder if it has the M-1 option ($15)which is a special jack on the side of the recorder.

PCM-2 $66
The PCM-2 has a buit-in preamplifier powered by a watch battery. The preamp has an ON-OFF switch ( PCM-2 is shown at right).
This microphone can plug directly into the "Mike" jack on our long play recorders.

Preamplifier size is 2¼" Square x 5/8" thick.
Battery size: LR44, 23-105, or equivalent for the PCM-2
